The Asian Pacific American Heritage Organization (APAHO) will present its 24th Annual Asian Fest Saturday, May 16th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Virginia Beach Sportsplex. The event is free and open to the public.
Hosted this year by the Philippines, the festival aims to promote a greater understanding of Asian communities and cultures. Attendees can enjoy cuisine, entertainment, arts, crafts and cultural displays from each of the representative countries. The celebration will also give Hampton Roads students of Asian heritage an opportunity to receive a scholarship.
Among Asian Pacific Heritage Month observances nationwide that recognize the contributions of Asian Pacific Americans, the event is sponsored by APAHO and several Asian associations in the region.
There will be events for all ages, including special activities for children, so bring out the whole family to enjoy Asian Fest 2015!
